How We Review
Shopping for skincare shouldn’t feel like a gamble. At Roxsy Finds, we pick every product we recommend through careful research — not hype, not sponsored placements, and not whoever shouts the loudest on social media. Here’s exactly how we do it.
Our focus is K-beauty, a world full of genuinely brilliant formulas — and plenty of overhyped ones. We read ingredient lists the way some people read novels, compare formulas across dozens of products in every category, and track which products keep earning love long after the viral moment fades. When a product makes one of our guides, it’s because the research says it deserves to be there.
Research first
Every recommendation starts with ingredient analysis. We look at what’s actually inside the bottle — the active ingredients, their concentrations where disclosed, the supporting formula, and how it stacks up against comparable products in the same category. Before we ever suggest a vitamin C serum or a gel moisturizer, we’ve compared formulas across multiple options to understand which ones offer real value and which are riding on pretty packaging.
Real reviews, honestly weighed
Ingredients tell us what a product should do; real people tell us what it actually does. We read hundreds of verified customer reviews for the products we consider, and we look for patterns — what people consistently love, and what they consistently complain about. A single glowing review means little. A hundred people praising the same lightweight texture, or flagging the same irritation issue, means a lot. We weigh both sides and share them with you, so you get the full picture before you buy.
No fake testing claims
Let’s be explicit: we do not claim hands-on testing we haven’t done. You won’t find us pretending we spent six weeks with a product when we didn’t. When we describe a texture, a finish, or the results you can expect, it’s based on ingredient science and aggregated user experience — and we say so plainly. We’d rather earn your trust with honesty than impress you with fiction. If our process ever changes to include hands-on testing, we’ll tell you exactly what we tested and how.
How we make money
Roxsy Finds is reader-supported. When you buy through the links in our guides, we may earn an affiliate commission — at no extra cost to you. That commission is what keeps the lights on and the research going. Here’s our promise: it never influences our rankings or recommendations. If a product isn’t worth your money, we won’t recommend it, no matter what the commission looks like. Our loyalty is to you, not to brands.
What we won’t recommend
Some things are automatic deal-breakers. We won’t recommend products with serious safety red flags, products propped up by fake or manipulated reviews, or products built on misleading claims. If the evidence doesn’t support the marketing, the product doesn’t make the list — no matter how popular it is. Shopping skincare with confidence means knowing someone already filtered out the noise for you. That’s our job, and we take it seriously.
